Metis is a physics puzzle game made by ynrie, an individual developer in the United Kingdom ("I", "me"). This notice explains what the closed test of Metis collects about you, why, and what you can ask me to do about it. I am the person responsible for your data (the "controller" under UK data protection law).

| What | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your Steam ID and Steam display name | When you sign in to publish levels or see other testers' levels | To give you an account, show who made a level, and keep your levels yours |
| The levels and designs you publish, with their names, descriptions and tags | When you choose to publish | To let other testers find and play them |
| A problem report: what you wrote, plus the items you chose to include (the level, your design, your settings, the recent log, a screenshot, and your system details: game version, operating system, processor, graphics card and driver, screen size) | Only when you make a report and choose to send it | To find and fix the problem you reported |
| A crash report: the log of the session that ended unexpectedly | Only when the game offers a report after a crash and you choose to send it | To find and fix the crash |
| Whether the game simulates exactly as built on your machine (a single "match" or "differs" result) | Inside reports | To catch differences between computers |
| Technical records kept by the servers, such as your IP address and the time of a request | Whenever the game talks to its servers | To keep the service running and secure |
Reports never include your sign-in details, your other levels or designs, or any file outside the game, and your computer's user name is removed from logs before anything is saved.
For now a report is saved as a file on your computer, and you share it in the testers' channel if you want to; nothing is sent until you do. Sending reports straight from the game will come later, and this notice will say so when it does.
The game does not include advertising, does not use analytics or tracking, and I do not sell or share your data for marketing. This website sets no cookies.
Everything else (your unpublished levels, designs, settings and saves) stays on your computer.
I use your data because it is necessary to run the test you have joined and to fix what you report (legitimate interests), and, for reports, because you choose to send them.
I do not give your data to anyone else, unless the law requires it.
You can ask me to:
Email rie@lilysend.com and I will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how I handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
The closed test is for invited testers aged 13 or over.
If this notice changes, the new version will be posted at this address, with the date above updated, and the game's tester notes will say so.
